Position Overview:
The successful candidate will support our optometrists/ophthalmologists by performing a variety of clinical and optical duties. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping patients achieve their best vision.
Key Responsibilities:
•         Conduct pre-testing and diagnostic imaging (e.g., OCT, visual fields, retinal imaging)
•         Assist with patient history, visual acuity, and other clinical assessments
•         Support doctors during examinations and procedures
•         Fit, adjust, and dispense eyeglasses and contact lenses
•         Deliver outstanding customer service in both clinical and optical settings
Qualifications:
•         Experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or Ophthalmic Dispenser preferred (but willing to train the right candidate)
•         Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
•         Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
•         Computer proficiency (EMR experience an advantage)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Ophthalmic Receptionist / Technician to join our team on a part-time basis (3 days per week). This is a dual-role position combining front desk reception duties with hands-on clinical support. Prior experience is an asset, but we are happy to train the right candidate who is motivated, detail-oriented, and enjoys working with people.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Greet and check in patients, schedule appointments, and manage phone/email inquiries

  • Perform patient pre-testing and diagnostic imaging (OCT, visual fields, retinal photos)

  • Assist doctors during exams and procedures

  • Maintain accurate patient records using our electronic medical record system

  • Educate patients about eyewear, contact lenses, and eye health

  • Support clinic flow and ensure a positive patient experience

    Qualifications:

  • Previous ophthalmic or medical office experience preferred, but not required (training provided)

Receptionist/Optometric Assistant Wanted in Ponoka, Alberta (250508)

We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Receptionist/Optometric Assistant to join our brand-new clinic. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the daily operations of our optometry practice. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping others.

Duties 
Conduct preliminary tests and gather patient history to support the optometrist.
Understanding and triaging emergency eye care.
Manage front desk responsibilities, including making/answering phone calls, scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries.
Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) using VisualEyes 
Provide information on optical products and assist patients with frame/lens selection 
Support retail sales by promoting eyewear products and services.
Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the office and examination areas.
Collaborate with team members to enhance the overall patient experience.
Make minor adjustments to frames.
Handle billing, insurance claims, and payments.
Place aided orders for lenses, frames, and contacts with optical labs 

Requirements 
High proficiency in English 
Experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
Previous experience in optical or a medical office setting is advantageous.
Knowledge of front desk operations within a healthcare environment is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. 
A commitment to providing high-quality patient care and maintaining confidentiality.
Willingness to learn as we will provide training in optometry specific skills.

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optician to join our brand-new clinic in June 2025. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting customers in selecting eyewear, fitting and adjusting glasses, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires a strong understanding of optical products and services, as well as the ability to work effectively in a retail environment.

Duties 
Greet and assist customers with their eyewear needs, providing personalized recommendations based on their preferences and requirements. 
Perform fittings and adjustments on eyewear to ensure proper fit and comfort for customers. 
Utilize optical equipment to measure customers’ eyes and determine appropriate lens specifications. 
Maintain an organized display of eyewear products and ensure that inventory is well-stocked. 
Process orders accurately and efficiently, including managing customer records within the VisualEyes system. 
Educate customers about lens options, coatings, and other optical products to enhance their understanding of available choices. 
Collaborate with laboratory technicians to ensure timely production of eyewear orders. 
Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and advancements in optical technology.

Skills 
Experience in laboratory settings is a plus for understanding the production process of eyewear. 
Strong background in retail management or retail sales, with a focus on customer service excellence. 
Knowledge of optical products and services is highly desirable. 
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members. 
Strong sales skills to promote products and drive business growth.
