Green Smoothie

Featuring: This quick and refreshing smoothie is hydrating and filled with vitamins. The spinach, pineapple, and peaches contain lutein and zeaxanthin, carotenoids that can help prevent or delay macular degeneration. Spinach is high in vitamin K, which prevents excess vascular calcification and protects against damage to the blood vessels in the retina. Proper hydration is also important for eye health as the eyes rely on water to keep them lubricated and help remove bacteria and dust particles.

Ingredients

  • A handful of spinach
  • 1½ cups frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1½ cups frozen peach chunks
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 can light coconut milk (400 ml)

Method

  1. Add ingredients to blender: Add fresh spinach, fruit, and coconut milk into a blender. Use this order so the fruit pushes the spinach leaves down.
  2. Blend: Ensure you've secured the top in place. Blend on high until smooth.
  3. Serve: Pour into 2–4 glasses and enjoy!
